Dry Storage Boat Barn at Port Sanibel Marina

Located in Fort Myers, Florida, Port Sanibel Marina became part of the R+L family of companies when it was purchased in 1995. After the purchase of the marina, the Roberts constructed a new dry storage boat barn. This building is an architectural gem featuring columns, 23 dormers, a 20 foot diameter copula, Bahama shudders, and a stucco exterior. It is rated to withstand hurricane force winds of up to 140 miles per hour. After it was constructed, the dry storage boat barn won the prestigious BOY and Safety Star architecture construction awards.

The marina is home to high-end amenities that boaters are sure to enjoy, including marble bathrooms with showers, paved parking areas, lush park-like landscaping, and more. The Ship Store is open daily from 7:30am to 4:30pm; visitors can rent boats and schedule fishing charters, while stocking up on sunscreen and fishing tackle for a day on the water in Fort Myers.

Outside the marina, guests can enjoy the mile-long nature boardwalk. . This trail was carefully built so as not to impact the natural mangrove habitat. Along the trail you can learn about the native birds, plants, fish, and wildlife in the area. By boat, visitors can canoe or kayak through Larry’s Lagoon. The trail begins at Port Sanibel Marina and winds through the mangroves, the natural habitat of manatees and other local wildlife.
